The Foundry Third Ward

Project Description: Chastain and Company provided design, and project management services for the atrium (or common area) of the Foundry, a shared office building.  The goal of the design is to provide tenants with a variety of attractive spaces to work and socialize.  One interesting challenge is that the owners wish the design to accommodate the space’s vintage brick laid flooring. The building was originally used as a metal foundry, and many elements from this period remain intact.  Chastain and Company designed custom furniture to be self-supporting, including a T-shaped bar and S-shaped half round booths.

Rico's Acai

Project Description: Chastain and Company provided design, project management, and contracting services. We took this space over from a music studio, and transformed it into a vibrant  acai shop using Rico's branding and by selecting complimentary (and tropical) finishes.

Landworks Design Group

Project Description: The client was moving into a new office space and had collaborated with a designer on a concept board but needed a resource to bring the concept to life. Chastain and Company executed on the design by handling all project management, including new paint, tech, flooring, electrical work, and overseeing the furniture installation.

MacTabby Cat Cafe

Project Description: The client was extremely design-oriented, so Chastain and Company's role was to help bring her vision to life. Chastain and Company provided general contracting services to turn this second-generation, second-floor space into a functioning cat cafe. Half of the space is dedicated to providing visitors with an area to play with and adopt cats, while the other half serves as a cafe.  Through the selection of proper finishes and construction, Chastain and Company successfully created a clean and safe place for both animals and patrons.

The Underground

Project Description: Located beneath the iconic Neighborhood Theatre in NoDa, Chastain and Company's role in this project was to transform "The Underground" into occupiable, rentable square footage by ensuring compliance with code.  Chastain and Company provided a clean and simple design for The Underground, understanding the need to reserve most of the budget to bring the space to code.  Chastain and Company served as the designer, project manager, and general contractor for the project.  The Underground is now fully leased to five individual businesses and features upgraded shared bathrooms, abundant light for safety and comfort, and ADA accessibility.
